To understand Atkins diet, you need to have an idea about the metabolism. Our body works with two types of fuel: Sugar and Fats. If you limit the sugar intake, the body burns the fat which also includes already present body fat. Hence weight loss occurs even with more calories. Also the best reason behind effective weight loss is when there is reduced intake of carbs and more in-take of proteins, the appetite automatically reduces. When on a low-carb diet, Fat is our body’s “preferred energy” source.
Induction Phase: To kick-start the weight loss, start with less than 20 grams of carbohydrates consumption for two weeks. Go for high-protein, high-fat, but low-carb foods.

Fine-Tuning Phase: You can add more carbs as you reach near to your “goal weight”
